Dr. Carl Tegtmeier was raised in White Plains and graduated from Dartmouth College and Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry . He served in the US Army Dental Corps at Fort Knox, Kentucky and upon leaving the military entered the full time private practice of dentistry in Mount Kisco. He is a Trustee of of the New York State Dental Foundation, a charitable organization committed to improving accesss to dental care and the oral health of all New Yorkers. He is the past chair of the New York State Dental Association's Council on Dental Health Planning and Hospital Dentistry. Dr. Tegtmeier is currently co-chair of the NYS Office of People with Developmental Disabilities Task Force on Special Dentistry and a member of the Special Care Dental Associations, NYS Oral Health Coalition, the Schuyler Center for Analysis and Advocacy Fluoride Rapid Response Team as well as the Dental Lifeline Network New York Leadership Council that oversees the Donated Dental Services program for the elderly and those with disabilities. Dr. Tegtmeier was recently recognized in May 2015 as one of Westchester's Heath Heroes "in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to healthcare in Westchester County and unwavering dedication to improving the quality of life of others" as stated by Robert P. Astorino, County Executive. Dr. Tegtmeier's commitment and service to community and those who are underserved visibly demonstrates the care and compassion he extends to all his patients in his practice.
